Chapbook: Planning
What is your final idea? Please explain in two sentences the theme and the form your writing will take.
My final idea is to write small book poetry about nature and my countryside where I live. My inspiration is poetry of Walt Whitman an American poet and his book poetry Leaves of Grass. My next inspiration is poetry of Sylvia Plath an American poet and her firs poetry book Winter Trees.
2. Considering the form, how do you intend to layout your book pages?
A poem on one side and a photo on the other. The poem and photo will be connected by the subject of the poem.3. How many pages do you expect there will be?
My chapbook will be between 20-24
4. Are you going to use images? Are these your own images (illustrations/photographs) or copyright free images that you will source?
I use my own images.
5. What is the plan of your time and how much you will need to spend on this? Remember writing is something that you will need time and concentration without disturbance - you must make sure that you plan time to do this.
I spend 2-3 weeks to be prepare my poetry chapbook with my own images inside.
6. What do you imagine the final book will look like?
It will be a mix of poems and photos.7. Have you considered the cover page/contents page/back cover with blurb?
I havent thought about it yet.8. Drafting and redrafting will need to be done? Who would you get to proofread your work?
I think I will need help with proofreading and composition, I will ask my tutor for help.
