Process and final project: Leicestershire countryside in photography.
Late with the final post about my project, I'm coming back to the description of my work. The delay is due to the fact that I did not know in what style it should be finished, whether it should be a colorful project, inspired by the paintings of John Constable and William Turner, which shows an idyllic and romantic image of the English countryside. Or maybe I will choose the path of Don McCullin's dark landscapes, in which his soul, tired from the hardships of documenting wars, fights an internal battle to get him out of this darkness. However, I decided to compromise, to combine everything that inspired me. There will be an idyllic English countryside landscape, with respect to 19th century painting. The colors will be in black and white, out of great respect for people who sacrifice their private, often emotional lives, to show the world what the horror of war is, and that the world is not always what it seems to us, it is full of contrasts, and these can be seen best in photos of the old school of photography, where the truth could not be obscured by the digital world, and came straight from the darkroom. One of its most important creators was and still is Don McCullin, both in photographic reportage and in the soulful black and white monochrome landscapes of Somerset.
I selected 8 photos for my project, which I easily created on the Wix website and with its simple tools. I only used the transition from color to black and white, exposure, light, contrast and shadows. I am posting my post-production screenshots of my work.I only used tools that artists I was inspired by could use in their projects.
Finally, I post my photos on my Project Portfolio page.
